Ultrasound

An ultrasound examination is a simple, noninvasive diagnostic test that uses high-frequency sound waves to create cross-sectional images of the body. This technique makes it possible to capture images in real-time.  Ultrasound imaging can show the structure and the movement of internal body organs.  Ultrasound uses no radiation.

Ultrasound images can be used to diagnose aneurysms in the aorta, kidney or gallbladder stones, enlarged abdominal organs, abnormal liver functions, and possible causes of abdominal pain. Ultrasound can also be used to provide ultrasound guided biopsy.
