CT examinations with Intravenous (IV) & Oral Contrast

No food or water for at least 4 hours prior to the exam. Taking your regular medications with sips of water is allowed

If you are a patient with diabetes, do not take any diabetes medications (e.g. Glucophage, Glucovance or any other medication containing Metformin) 24-48 hours before and 48 hours after the CT examination

If you are 65 years of age and older, having renal insufficiency and will be receiving IV contrast, please have your doctor order lab work that measure your BUN/Creatinine/ RFT. These lab works cannot be older than 30 days

Please notify our staff 48 hours prior to your scheduled appointment if you are suffering from asthma, kidney diseases, diabetes or any allergies. Pre-medication may be required before your examination

If oral steroid pre-medication is required, it should be prescribed by your doctor the day before your scheduled examination

Please notify our staff if you are pregnant or if you may be pregnant

Please bring films or CD and reports of previous examinations
